1959 —

We know what it takes to deliver.

— Enduring brand.

From humble beginnings in 1959, the Collier Homes story begins when Raymond McCarthy registered the business. Raymond lived on Collier Street in the suburb of Applecross. Hence the name. The first display home, called the Norwood, was built on nearby Riseley Street, Booragoon, in 1967.

In 1969 the business was sold to a national land developer, and then in 1981, purchased by its senior executive, Ron Smith. In 1996, Adelaide based and national homebuilder Home Australia acquired the business. The brand and assets were purchased in November 2016 by Dario Amara — a second-generation builder and civil engineer, and his wife Susan, also with a building and property background. This was a considered strategy to build upon a family building tradition. Susan and Dario have four adult sons, all active in the building and property sectors - which provides the family business with a solid succession plan that will take the family building tradition solidly and strategically into a third generation.

— Design orientation.

We are passionate about the creative process associated with building a new home. Our approach is consequently design orientated right from the outset. Apart from having our own in-house creative, we have collaborations with renown designers and architects.

We are acutely aware of the central role that smart, efficiently designed and built housing will play as Perth’s urban environment continues to evolve. That’s why we champion urban density and innovative design principles. We ensure that the fundamentals of what makes a home are maintained, and that good design is applied to tailor a more suitable fit for what our suburbs are becoming.

— For family, by family.

As a Western Australian family-owned and operated business, we are passionate about what we create. This passion drives a culture of personalised service and a preference to work with proven and quality tradespeople and with talented designers, architects and engineers.

A home by Collier Homes is not only a quality build but also one that presents itself as a well-designed and stylish residence that matches your lifestyle. We apply proven project management techniques and advanced applications to manage the entire design and build process. This ensures that your home is constructed efficiently and that you're constantly kept informed and involved.
